Test-retest reliability of static and dynamic motor fatigability protocols using grip and pinch strength in typically developing children

چکیده
Upper limb motor fatigability is an important debilitating factor for activities of daily living in clinical pediatric populations. However, the reliability protocols these populations currently unknown. Therefore, current study investigates test-retest a static and dynamic protocol grip pinch strength typically developing children (TDC). Eighty-nine TDC (35 boys, 54 girls; mean age 10 years 11 months) used dynamometer (sustained) (repeated) contractions during 30s. For (SFI), (Fmean) SD (Fvar) force were calculated, fatigability, F number peaks (Npeaks) calculated. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) ICCs high (ICC: 0.94–0.96 0.91–0.98). moderate to var 0.67–0.85). The SFI showed 0.69–0.77). N 0.78–0.91). Conclusion: results suggest that can be reliably TD aged 6–18 years.

متن کاملTest-Retest and Inter-Rater Reliability Study of the Schedule for Oral-Motor Assessment in Persian Children
Objectives: Reliable and valid clinical tools to screen, diagnose, and describe eating functions and dysphagia in children are highly warranted. Today most specialists are aware of the role of assessment scales in the treatment of affected individuals. However, the problem is that the clinical tools used might be nonstandard, and worldwide, there is no integrated assessment performed to assess ...
متن کاملInter-Intra Rater Reliability, Construct and Discriminative Validity of Iranian Typically Developing Children Handwriting Speed Test (I-CHST)
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop an Iranian Hand writing Speed Test (I-CHST) for testing of Iranian students aged 8-12. To date, no norms of handwriting speed have been published for hand-writing speed of the Iranian students. Methods: A sample of 400 typically developing Iranian students across four age cohorts was recruited. Among those 400 students 50% were girls...
متن کاملTest-retest reliability of Motricity Index strength assessments for lower extremity in post stroke hemiparesis
Background: The Motricity Index was used to measure strength in upper and lower extremities after stroke. The weighted score based on the ordinal 6 point scale of Medical Research Council was used to measure maximal isometric muscle strength. There is dearth of articles dealing with the reliability of this method. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the test retest reliability o...
متن کاملTest-retest consistency of speech-evoked auditory brainstem responses in typically-developing children.
The click-evoked auditory brainstem response (ABR) is widely used in clinical settings, partly due to its predictability and high test-retest consistency. More recently, the speech-evoked ABR has been used to evaluate subcortical processing of complex signals, allowing for the objective assessment of biological processes underlying auditory function and auditory processing deficits not revealed...
